8 Tips For Picking Your Senior Photographer
Whether you’re a total planner and you’re starting your search early, or you’re the procrastinator (like me) who just realized you still haven’t checked senior pictures off your to-do list, picking your senior photographer is a BIG DEAL! Here's a few things to consider as you start your search.
If you follow along with several photographer’s social media platforms, you will get a great idea of who they are, what their personality is like, and how they treat others. It is so important to work with someone that you will get along with and will make you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera!
Think about the experience you want to have. Do you want lots of variety with multiple outfits and locations? Do you want professional hair and makeup? Do you want a customized experience that is tailored to your unique interests, hobbies, and personality? Do you want to go all out? or do you want to keep it simple? Does the photographer you’re looking at take the time to make this experience extra special for you with your favorite treats, music during your session, and unique locations? Do you want pictures like everyone else? Or do you want to STAND OUT?
Every photographer is an artist. That means each of us has a different style, sees light differently, and edits in our own way. Be sure to work with a photographer that edits in a way that you love, because that is how your pictures will look, too! I believe in using true to life color and not over-processing your skin. Ask senior or parents that have worked with that photographer before and learn more about their experience! This will give you so much insight about what you can expect.
